Undergraduate Research Ambassadors (URA)

Interested in learning more about research opportunities on Georgetown’s campus and beyond?  The Undergraduate Research Ambassadors (URA) are here to help!

The URA is a group of highly accomplished sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have participated extensively in academic research during their college experience.  GOFAR launched the program in 2011; since then, the URA has represented all four undergraduate schools and a myriad of research interests.

Currently, the URA is collaborating with GUSA to host the first annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, which will take place on Saturday, March 16th.  In addition, they are revitalizing the Mentis Vita undergraduate journal of scholarly research, beginning with an issue focused on the abstracts of student research projects.  The URA has also worked with Georgetown’s Preparing for Excellence Program (PEP), the Georgetown College Peer Advisors, and the Cawley Career Center to present on pathways to research.  These are just a few examples in which our students engage in meaningful research opportunities that provide them with life-long skills.

If you would like to learn more about any of URA’s projects, are interested in becoming an ambassador yourself, or have questions about research, feel free to contact them at guresearchambassadors@gmail.com.
