Every year, the students in the Forum learn the St. Crispin's Day speech. This year, coinciding with the Feast Day of St. Crispin on October 25, the students memorized and recited the speech on the steps of Healy Hall.
The St. Crispin’s Day speech from Shakespeare’s play Henry V tells of bravery and camaraderie. Coining the famous phrase “band of brothers,” King Henry V gives this speech to his soldiers before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415. Although known for the famous battles that occurred, such as the Battle of Balaklava during the Crimean War and the Battle of Leyte Gulf during World War II, the feast day honors the Christian saints Crispin and Crispinian.
