The Lisa J. Raines and AAP Summer Research Fellowship (Raines) presents just such an opportunity. Open to Georgetown sophomores and juniors, the Raines provides $5,000 to approximately eight students to design, investigate, and produce an original research project. Successful applicants will commit ten weeks during Summer 2013 to their project, and will submit a final report synthesizing their work in August 2013. Raines recipients represent a wide variety of disciplines and may come from any of Georgetown's four undergraduate schools.
Still not sure if the Raines is right for you? Such a fellowship offers many benefits, including:
- Amelioration of research, writing, and organizational skills;
- Significant strengthening of your undergraduate academic record;
- A competitive edge for future graduate school admissions and post-graduate fellowships;
- Funding to travel to the best research resources - at home or abroad; and
- The opportunity to shape your undergraduate education based on your specific interests, background, and skills.
The deadline to apply for this year's Raines is noon on Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
For more information regarding the Raines, please visit the application website or email Ms. Wagstaff.
